Sr_31Z_Lc14,26-27

"If any one comes to me without hating his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple.
Whoever does not carry his own cross and come after me cannot be my disciple."

This statement of Jesus might sound cruel and ominous for all who think about following him. The conditions seem to be over the top for the normal people. There must be something beyond what Jesus is asking for. He is a jealous God.
