"because of the tender mercy of our God by which the daybreak from on high will visit us to shine on those who sit in darkness and death's shadow, to guide our feet into the path of peace."
How beautiful and powerful are the expresions like "the tender mercy of God", "daybreak from on high", "path of peace", "darkness and death's shadow". We are dealing with a mystery. The coming Lord enters the human reality but he also challenges the non-human powers of darkness.
